Thanuka M. de Silva is a Lecturer attached to the Department of Marketing, Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka. He was graduated at University of Ruhuna in 2012, with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Marketing. Moreover, he was awarded a gold medal in 2012 at the General Convocation, which is offered by the Charted Institute of Marketing (CIM) to the best student in the Bachelors of Business Administration degree programme in Marketing at the University of Ruhuna. In 2019, he obtained his Master of Business Administration in Marketing at University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. He obtained his PhD from University of Otago, New Zealand in 2025. His research interests lie at the intersection of digital transformation and marketing, with a particular focus on value creation through AI agents and social media, and their implications for organisations and consumer behavior.
