Guest Lecture on “Legal Issues in Digital Business” – LEXIFY’25
The Department of Management and Entrepreneurship successfully hosted a guest lecture titled “Legal Issues in Digital Business” under the theme LEXIFY ’25 – Where Law Meets the Digital Frontier on 12th November 2025 at MFLT 03B, Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Ruhuna.
The session was conducted by Mr. Samantha Jayasundara, a senior lawyer, who delivered an insightful and interactive discussion on the legal and ethical dimensions of operating within today’s digital economy. Key emphasis was placed on the importance of legal compliance, intellectual property in digital environments, cybersecurity preparedness, and practical strategies for managing cyber risks. Students gained valuable exposure to the legal frameworks that guide digital business operations and explored practical examples illustrating how organizations can safeguard their digital presence against emerging threats.
This session provided an excellent opportunity for undergraduates to deepen their understanding of the intersection between law, technology, and entrepreneurship, an essential knowledge area for future digital-age leaders.
