The Department of Management and Entrepreneurship, Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Ruhuna, successfully conducted its second collaborative academic workshop titled "Global Digital Payments Landscape and New Innovations" on 10th June 2026 from 1.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. at MFLT 04. Proudly presented in continuous partnership with the Regional Branch of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Matara, this specialized session was specifically targeted toward 3000-level undergraduates to further build their digital financial competencies.
The session was organized under the institutional guidance of Senior Lecturer Mr. Madhura Kodithuwakku. Expert facilitators from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka delivered an extensive, practical overview designed to enhance student understanding of the rapidly evolving digital financial world. The core focus of the workshop centered on the global digital payments landscape, online banking ecosystems, modern financial security measures, and smart financial practices. The session emphasized the critical importance of digital financial literacy, showing undergraduates how to safely navigate emerging automated tools within contemporary corporate structures.
By participating in this on-campus collaborative training, the 3000-level students gained vital exposure to practical fintech trends and institutional risk management strategies. The workshop successfully bridged the gap between basic commercial theories and real-world execution, equipping future graduates with the necessary strategic insights and analytical skills needed to manage digital transaction systems safely, responsibly, and efficiently in a tech-driven marketplace.
