Online guest lecture - Process Management in Practice

The Department of Management and Entrepreneurship, Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Ruhuna, successfully conducted an insightful virtual academic session titled "Process Management in Practice" on Tuesday, 9th June 2026 from 03:15 p.m. onwards via the Zoom platform. Structured as part of the Operations Management (OM) subject stream, this interactive webinar was explicitly designed for 3000-level undergraduates to provide them with critical corporate perspectives on modern execution frameworks as they prepare for their final-year assessments and future professional careers.
The webinar featured an elite panel of corporate keynote speakers from TBS International (Pvt) Ltd: Mr. Neelanga Sooriyaarachchi, Chief Operating Officer, and Mr. Lahiru Kularathna, Assistant Manager – Operations. Drawing from their extensive, hands-on industry experience, the speakers provided a practical breakdown of how process management tools, workflow optimization strategies, and operational controls are implemented within a high-performing corporate ecosystem. The presentation emphasized real-world problem-solving, quality metrics, and contemporary industrial dynamics, moving completely beyond textbook theory.
By participating in this immersive virtual learning experience, the 3000-level students gained vital exposure to practical industry-relevant process management applications. The session successfully bridged the gap between advanced academic management frameworks and actual industrial realities, sharpening final-year undergraduates' operational thinking and organizational capabilities, while equipping them with the critical management skills required to thrive as efficient, modern business professionals.
