Educational Field Visit 4000 Level- Department of Finance

The Department of Finance, in collaboration with the Society of Finance Students (SoFiSt), successfully organized a two-day educational field visit on 8th and 9th June 2026 for 4000 level undergraduates. The program provided an excellent opportunity for students to bridge classroom learning with practical industry exposure through visits to the Head Office of the Bank of Ceylon and Academy of Adventure (AOA) Base Camp, Belihuloya.
During the visit to the Head Office of the Bank of Ceylon, students gained valuable insights into banking operations, financial services, organizational management, and contemporary practices in the financial sector. The interactive sessions with industry professionals enabled students to enhance their understanding of the practical applications of finance and banking concepts while exposing them to the professional working environment of one of Sri Lanka's leading financial institutions.
The second day of the field visit was held at AOA Base Camp, where students participated in leadership development programs, team-building activities, and outdoor experiential learning sessions. These activities fostered communication, collaboration, leadership, and problem-solving skills while strengthening the solidarity among participants. The field visit successfully combined academic learning with experiential development, contributing to the preparation of competent, confident, and industry-ready graduates.
